The Mary and Edwin Meader Fine Arts Library features works of literature and non-fiction about art, cinema, and more. We carry a range of periodicals that cover a broad range of topics, from architecture and antiques to ceramics and photography. Hosting a variety of programs, including book discussions, we invite guests to explore connections between books and artworks throughout the month. The Library supports the Institute’s mission: to offer area residents and visitors quality visual arts educational programs and services that encourage the creation and appreciation of art. Our library is the premier destination for bibliophiles, art enthusiasts, and casual readers in the Kalamazoo area.
Hours: Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, 11am–3pm
Borrowing: If you’re a KIA member, you may borrow materials – just bring in your KIA membership/library card to get started.
Monthly in-person book discussions are offered at the Meader Fine Arts Library every third Wednesday at 2pm (unless otherwise noted). All book discussions are free to attend and open to the public. Participants do not need to have read the book but it will help facilitate the overall discussion. Preregistration is encouraged. Click here to see upcoming book discussions.
