We will go over different pricing formulas, strategies, and monetization streams to empower you to feel comfortable setting a price for your work. Open to artists of all mediums. Bring 1 or 2 small works or photos of your work for discussion as questions and conversation are welcomed and encouraged!
Learn to make your own simple frames for paintings, prints, and drawings using accessible materials and methods that can be replicated at home! Some basic woodworking skills will be covered as well as tips and tricks for upcycling thrifted frames.

Learn what documents and photos you’ll need when applying, plan for application costs, and how to keep an “application packet” ready to go online. Get insights directly from a former juror and learn what they are looking for in an application.
Renew and strengthen your knowledge and use of the principles of color theory and its various emotional attributes in application to your own artwork. Participants will seek personal inspiration and guidance through each class session’s in-depth review of the mechanics of color theory from reviews of historical examples and visits to the KIA’s revolving exhibitions and permanent collection. Classes will be conducted in a workshop setting with the primary focus of the class being the successful application of color theory in the participants’ artwork.
This class focuses on an individual’s growth in the making of visual art, its process, and the conveying of ideas. Participants will be able to seek personal inspiration and guidance through the review and discussion of each other’s work and the artwork in the KIA’s revolving exhibitions and permanent collection. Classes will be conducted in a workshop setting with the primary focus of the class being the growth of one another’s art. Additional activities may include in-class experimentation.
