2015 High School Area Show & Congressional Art Competition

This annual juried exhibition features 86 works by artists 18 years or younger, in grades 9-12. This year, we exhibit student art from Benton Harbor, Coldwater, Comstock, Gull Lake, Kalamazoo, Lawton, Mattawan, Parchment, Paw Paw, Plainwell, Portage, St. Joseph, Stevensville, Vicksburg, Watervliet, and Three Rivers.

Juror for the show is educator, artist and curator Greg Waskowsky, recently retired from the KIA. He organized the first High School Area Show in 1982 and every year following. Greg chose which work would hang in the museum, and also the juror's awards and honorable mentions.

Representatives from each art school selected their respective scholarship winners.

For the second year, the KIA teamed up with Congressman Fred Upton to allow teen artists residing in the 6th Congressional District to concurrently enter their artwork in the Congressional Art Competition.
