It's been seven years since The Hot Glass Roadshow of the Corning Museum of Glass has been to Kalamazoo. When the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts exhibited Chihuly in Kalamazoo, the Hot Glass Roadshow was one of the most popular add-on attractions. The KIA is excited to bring it back October 5-14 for a two week extravaganza of 60 live demonstrations!

"The Hot Glass Roadshow is a one-of-a-kind experience and is fun for everyone. Its visually exciting and a great interactive show to take your family to." said KIA Executive Director Jim Bridenstine.

See master glassmakers take gobs of molten glass and turn them into beautiful bowls, vases and more in a narrated Hot Glass Show of twirling, heat, sparks, and glassblowing. Special Feature: "You Design It, We Make It" workshops!

The Corning Museum of Glass is home to the world's most comprehensive collection of glass. Spanning the globe and encompassing more than 3,500 years of human ingenuity, the collection includes masterpieces from ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome; the great civilizations of Islam, Asia, Europe and the Americas; and the range of artistic movements beginning in the late 19th century and extending to the present day.

The Hot Glass Roadshow of the Corning Museum of Glass is presented to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the American Studio Glass Movement.

This program is in conjunction with the exhibition Expressions: International Glass Invitational.

Expressions features nearly 40 beautiful examples of glass art created by renown artists including, Dan Dailey, Ann Wolff, Dale Chihuly, Emily Brock, Howard Ben Tr, Paul Stankard and Toots Zynsky, only a few of the 26 distinguished artists represented.
