Dog Days event

Can we go to the KIA please?

Kalamazoo, MI - Tuesday, August 7, 2012. The dog days of summer are here, and the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts has a great idea to beat the heat. Bring your dog to the KIA for a day of dog-gone fun and pooch-friendly activities!

Join us on Saturday, August 18, 11 am - 2 pm and enjoy a special day with your furry best friend.

  • Dog photographs by professional photographer, Mary Whalen ($10)
  • Make-and-take dog bandanas ($10)
  • Enjoy a hot dog and cool soda in our courtyard. ($5)

Proceeds from this fundraiser benefit future programming at the KIA.

Admission is free. While you are visiting, be sure to check out an exhibition that is sure to receive two paws up from its canine critics, Elliott Erwitt: Dog Dogs. This collection of black and white photographs of dogs and their owners from around the world is shown on two levels, and is a wonderful testimonial to the universal love between dogs and the humans they own.

The KIA requests that all of our canine guests be leashed during the festivities and that owners be courteous to our landscaping staff and neighbors by picking up after your dog during potty breaks.

For more information, please call (269) 349-7775 ext. 3111.
