World-renowned, master photographic printer, Teresa Engle-Moreno will visit the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts Kirk Newman Art School the weekend of July 13 to lead a workshop on darkroom printing.

Join us for this workshop and learn how to get the most out of your negatives for incredible prints. During the course of this workshop participants will gain creative and technical insight on how to push and pull the printing process, tinting, spotting, printing less-than-perfect negatives and other tricks for getting a perfect print.

Engle-Moreno will also be available for print and portfolio review during a pre-scheduled block of time. She will present original prints of famous photographs and describe the techniques she used to create the prints and her experience working with many of the world's most famous photographers and photographic archives including the Life Picture Collection, Robert and Cornell Capa, Lucien Clergue, Andreas Feininger, Dorothy Norman, Bruce Davidson and dozens of others.

This workshop is for experienced photographers with knowledge of dark room printing only. Please bring a selection of black and white negatives and or work prints to the first day of the workshop. For questions please contact the 2-D department chair, Stuart Gibson at stuartg@kiarts.org.
