The Kalamazoo Institute of Arts is pleased to unveil the work of Kalamazoo County's youngest artists.
Annually, art teachers in the Kalamazoo County schools (private, public, parochial, and charter schools) submit a selection of works produced by their students to be featured in an exhibition that is a delight to behold. During the month of February, the KIA's galleries will be filled with the most creative, colorful, whimsical art by young artists from kindergarten through eighth grades.
Better than any refrigerator, the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts covers every inch of gallery wall space, from floor to ceiling with child art, including paintings, drawings, 2- and 3-dimensional works and more. It is always an amazing experience to see the pride on the faces of these children as they show their friends and family their creations.
There will be opening receptions on February 4 & 5 for the exhibiting school districts.
12 - 2 pm: Reception for Comstock, Vicksburg and Croyden Avenue Schools
2 - 4 pm: Reception for Kalamazoo Public Schools and Non-public schools
12 - 2 pm: Reception for Gull Lake, Parchment and Galesburg-Augusta Schools
2 - 4 pm: Reception for Portage and Schoolcraft Schools
Admission to the receptions is free. Refreshments will be provided.
