The Kalamazoo Institute of Arts[/url] is offering some fun, holiday-themed events and workshops this month! Be sure not to miss them!

December 8, 2:30-4:30 pm or 6:30-8:30 pm - Holiday Wreath Workshop: Create a beautiful round wreath with a variety of luxurious, mixed evergreens and a bow that can proudly be displayed throughout the holiday season with guidance from expert designer Sherrie Snyder of Gull Lake Landscape Co. KIA Members: $40, Non-Members: $50 Register online.

December 10, 12-4 pm - Make and Take Holiday Ornament Workshop: Get ready for the holidays with this fun and easy ornament class. Participants will make metal ornaments using copper sheet and wire and other items. KIA Members: $55, Non-Members: $65. Register online.

Sunday, December 11, 2-4 pm: Sunday Funday at the KIA: Create snow-themed art projects and watch The Snowman film (based on Raymond Briggs' famous book) and hear other snow stories. Take part in a snowperson building contest (weather permitting) and win a prize for the most artistic snowperson! For a nominal fee, you can snap a picture with Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus, who'll join us for the afternoon! Admission is free.

December 12, 6:30-8:30 pm - Holiday Swag Workshop: Make holiday swags fashioned with fresh evergreens to accent a mantel or door with holiday cheer with guidance from expert designer, Sherri Snyder of Gull Lake Landscape Co. KIA Members: 35, Non-Members: $45. Register online.

December 14, 10 am: Kalamazoo Art League Holiday Get Together: A fun celebration for current Art League members, and a way for potential members to learn about this organization and consider joining! Denise Lisiecki, Director of the KIA's Kirk Newman Art School, will discuss the school's many fine artists. Free for Art League Members; $10 general admission; $3 students with ID from K College, WMU, KVCC or Kirk Newman Art School. Call (269) 349-7775 to register or for more information.
