Stephen Hansen But is it art?

Kalamazoo is proud of our artist community, and the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts is excited to feature a lecture about a successful local sculptor, Stephen Hansen!

Stephen Hansen's whimsical sculptures and graphics are in collections around the world, including the Smithsonian Institution and the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport. But his career began in Kalamazoo, where he lived and worked for more than twenty years.

You have seen his work featured in Midtown Gallery and the KIA. Now you can learn about the artist and what inspires him. Join us for this exciting Up Close lecture with KIA Associate Curator of Collections, Greg Waskowsky on Thursday, November 10, 6:30 - 7:45. Registration fee is $10 for KIA Members and $12 for non-members.

Join Greg Waskowsky, who worked with Hansen at the KIA as he discusses Stephen's work and the artist's quirky take on life and art. As a special treat, be the first to see several rare early Hansen prints recently donated to the KIA.
