KIA is Budding with Young Artists this May!
Young Artists of Kalamazoo County, May 1 - 30

Kalamazoo, MI - Friday, April 30, 2010. Everyone knows that April showers bring May flowers! Visit the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts this May, and see the works of all the budding young artists featured in Young Artists of Kalamazoo County, running May 1 - 30th.

To create the exhibition, art teachers submit works from students in grades K-8 that reflect their schools' population and diversity. Participating schools include those in Kalamazoo, Portage, Comstock, Parchment, Galesburg-Augusta, Gull Lake and Vicksburg.

Young Artists Exhibition

The exhibition is designed to celebrate young talent while emphasizing the importance of art in children's lives. Kalamazoo Public Schools has been involved in this event for more than 80 years, and the other schools for nearly 20. More than 60 students' works will be showcased at the KIA starting Saturday, May 1.

Also, be sure to join us for a public tour of the exhibition on Sunday, May 30th at 2 p.m. The tour is free and open to the public. Kids are encouraged to come!

Young Artists of Kalamazoo County is sponsored by First National Bank and Edwards Industrial Sales, Inc.

The Kalamazoo Institute of Arts is a nonprofit art museum and school.
