The Kalamazoo Art League is pleased to invite art aficionados to the following fall events:

Lecture: Wednesday, November 9, 10 a.m. - World-renowned designer Robert Israel speaks about his work designing for opera and theater, from the "Met" in New York to La Scala in Milan. Free for Art League members; $10 general admission; $3 students with ID from WMU, K College, KVCC or the Kirk Newman Art School. Reception following the lecture included with admission.

depARTure Trip: Wednesday, November 16, The Egypt Experience - Be transported back in time to the tombs of ancient Egypt at The Egypt Experience: Secrets of the Tomb at the Toledo Museum of Art. Meet everyday Egyptians, explore their hopes for the afterlife, and see tomb recreations and the elaborate art that decorated them. Cost $80. Deadline for reservations is November 2. Book Study: Thursday, November 17 - The Lacuna, by Barbara Kingsolver, follows the life of a man seeking to become a writer. He comes from two distinct cultures-the vibrant Mexico of his youth with Diego Rivera, Frida Kahlo and Leon Trotsky and the politically charged U.S. of mid-20th century.
