The Hot Glass Roadshow of the Corning Museum of Glass, October 5-14
Celebrating Studio Glass
It's been seven years since the The Hot Glass Roadshow of the Corning Museum of Glass has visited the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts. We are excited to have them back this fall for 60 live demonstrations!
See master glassmakers take gobs of molten glass and turn them into beautiful bowls, vases and more in a narrated Hot Glass Show of twirling, heat, sparks, and glassblowing. Special Feature: "You Design It, We Make It" workshops!
The Corning Museum of Glass is home to the world's most comprehensive collection of glass. Spanning the globe and encompassing more than 3,500 years of human ingenuity, the collection includes masterpieces from ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome; the great civilizations of Islam, Asia, Europe and the Americas; and the range of artistic movements beginning in the late 19th century and extending to the present day.
The Hot Glass Roadshow of the Corning Museum of Glass is presented to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the American Studio Glass Movement.
This program is in conjunction with the exhibition Expressions: International Glass Invitational
