The Kalamazoo Art League is hosting Lisa Wainwright to speak about Contemporary Art at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts on Wednesday, February 9 at 10 a.m.

Lisa Wainwright is the Dean of Faculty at the School of the Chicago Art Institute. She received her doctorate from the University of Illinois in 1993. Since then she has served in many capacities leading up to her present job, among them Dean of Graduate Studies and Director of the Graduate program in the Theory and Criticism Department. She has lectured for many museums and educational organizations as far away as Taiwan. Among her several awards of fellowships and honors is that of being twice listed as "Teachers rated excellent by their students" at the University of Illinois.

Admission is free to Kalamazoo Art League members; $10 general admission; $3 for students with ID from WMU, K College, KVCC or the Kirk Newman Art School. Reception following the lecture included with admission.
