For parents and caregivers who want to keep their little one's imaginations and creativity sharp during their break, now is a good time to sign up for Spring Break Art Camp at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts' Kirk Newman Art School!

This Art Camp schedule is designed for a full day's experience, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a supervised one-hour lunch period. Please send a sack lunch with your child each day. As an option, students may attend the morning session or the afternoon session only.

What makes the Kirk Newman Art School the right place to send your child for art instruction?

1. Children are exposed to multiple media opportunities, so they can decide what interests them and what they can pursue in the future!

2. They are taught by practicing artists, not volunteers! Professional instruction means children have the opportunity to really hone in on their talents and learn how to develop them. In other words, this isn't another "arts and crafts" program!

3. Students have access to some of the best art studios and equipment in Southwest Michigan. They get to utilize real artist tools just like the adults use, an opportunity all children enjoy!

4. In the words of one Art Camper: "I come here every year because I can be myself. I'm not graded or told what I'm doing is wrong. The teachers help but they also give me space to think for myself. I love it!" -Amanda, age 11.
