Masks and More: Appreciating Design Through World Art (all ages, especially upper elementary and middle school)
See how cultures from around the world use the line, shape, color, and pattern. Included are a variety of masks from Mexico, Bali, Africa and the Pacific Northwest. Textiles, paintings and small sculptures are also included. A great introduction to the art of different cultures and a new way to appreciate basic design. Resource Kit included. $125 plus mileage

Kachina! (all ages, especially social studies, history and language arts classes)
Authentic Hopi Kachinas in Plexiglas cases are perfect for classroom use. Great for units on Native American culture. Comes with a notebook filled with language arts/writing activities and background information about each figure. Cases can be picked up at the KIA. $60

El Arte Popular Mexicano: Folk Art of Mexico (all ages)
The rich history of Mexico is alive in its folk art. Included are works that reflect the blending of Spanish and Indigenous cultures, such as retablos, ex-votos and the colorful masks used in traditional dances. Striking bead work and yarn painting by Huichol Indians and contemporary expressions such as Mata Ortiz ceramics and Oaxacan wood carving are also featured. Text available in Spanish and English. Out of Africa (all ages)
Let Africa speak to you through this selection of tribal objects. See how masks, textiles, beadwork and other ceremonial objects express the social and spiritual values of African cultures. All works are presented in self-contained display cases that can either be hung on folding panels or placed on shelves or tables. $125 plus mileage

Rediscovering Ancient Egypt (all ages)
After exploring ancient tombs in the Egyptian desert, artist Judith Barrowman became inspired by their scenes of everyday life. She has recreated these images of ancient Egypt in a series of small paintings that capture the delicate beauty of the originals. Resource Kit included. $125 plus mileage

The Creation by the Kalamazoo Art and Knowledge Workshop (all ages, middle/high school focus)
New York artist Tim Rollins and the KOS (Kids of Survival) conducted a workshop in Kalamazoo with middle school students. Since the 1980s, Rollins has shown that all students can flourish when taught through art. His collaborative art projects with these students are based on great works of literature and music, and have been displayed in the museums and galleries around the world. The Kalamazoo Workshop was inspired by Franz Josef Haydn's choral masterpiece, The Creation. $100 plus mileage
