| Personal Membership Categories and Benefits |
When you join the KIA, you become eligible for members-only benefits, and you help ensure that the KIA will continue to play a vital cultural and educational role in West Michigan. A portion of your dues will help support our programs and services; the balance provides the benefits and privileges of membership. You will receive a generous basic membership package and, depending on the level chosen, other exciting privileges such as reciprocal membership rights with other participating museums in Michigan.

- 10% discount on Gallery Shop purchases of $10 or more
- Two $8 discounts on Kirk Newman Art School class
- Early registration for Kirk Newman Art School classes
- Free subscription to the award-winning KIA quarterly newsletter, Sightlines
- Opportunity to join KIA affiliate groups, such as the Kalamazoo Art League, Volunteers and Docents
- Circulation privileges at the KIA Mary & Edwin Meader Fine Arts Library.
- $25 Student
All Basic Membership benefits, except invitations to receptions, at a special student rate. Student memberships are available with a current, valid high school or college student ID.
- $40 Individual
All Basic Membership benefits for one person.
- $70 Family or Dual
All Basic Membership benefits for two adults and children 17 or younger living at the same address, plus two additional discounted art school classes per year (total of four class discounts per year).
- $100 Sustaining
All benefits of previous categories, plus
- $12 discount on Kirk Newman Art School classes
- 15% discount on Gallery Shop purchases of $10 or more
- Reciprocal membership benefits at participating Michigan art museums.
- $150 Donor
All benefits of previous categories, plus
- $250 Patron
All benefits of previous categories, plus
- Invitations to special KIA events and programs
- Opportunity to rent the facility for a private event.
- $500 Benefactor
All benefits of previous categories, plus
- Free individual membership for a non-member friend
- Tuition for one Kirk Newman Art School class per year
- Listing on KIA Donor Recognition Board.
- Director's Circle (three categories)
Founder: $1,000-$2,499
Leader: $2,500-$4,999
Visionary: $5,000 and above
All benefits of previous categories, plus
- Tuition for two Kirk Newman Art School classes
- Invitation to annual Director's Circle Dinner.
Persons 62 years of age or older may elect to receive a 10% discount in the Individual and Dual/Family membership categories.
Those who join at Patron, Benefactor and Director's Circle levels may, if they wish, select the
following payment plans:
- Patron: semi-annual
- Director's Circle and Benefactor: quarterly or semi-annual
Our affiliate organizations include the Kalamazoo Art League, which offers their members an annual series of art-related lectures and trips to other museums, exhibitions, private collections and galleries far and near; and the Docents, who conduct tours of exhibits for groups of all ages.
