No charge for local residents to attend the world's largest Medieval conference. May 10-13 will mark the 50th anniversary of the first conference on medival studies hosted by Western Michigan University. That regional conference has grown into the International Congress on Medieval Studies, the world's largest annual gathering of people interested in the Middle Ages. Hosted by WMU's Medieval Institute, the Congress brings thousands of visitors to Kalamazoo each May. The Congress has always drawn many attendees from the local community, who can pre-register for free - online or at the Miller Auditorium ticket office. Pre-registration closes April 25.
